Hyde Park Home Day was a strong success and an excellent start to the process! On Saturday morning, the Connect Hyde Park team staked out a prime location in the center of the Home Day celebration in the Village of Hyde Park, many thanks to the Home Day organizing team for finding us a great location!

We had a busy day, with many folks dropping by to talk about the project and to give us their two cents about how they would like to “Connect Hyde Park.” Common themes from all included a strong desire for a new restaurant or coffee shop that would act as a gathering place for the community, and a need for improved pedestrian infrastructure that allows for safe walking in the Village.

In addition to good discussions, we collected the written opinions of more than thirty people who kindly took a moment out of their busy afternoon to take our Hyde Park Resident & Visitor Survey. This survey is providing us valuable data that will tell us what will draw them to the Village of Hyde Park to live, work and play. If you didn’t have the chance to take the survey at Home Day, you can go to the Village Survey page to find out more information and to take it yourself!

Following the Home Day festivities, the Connect Hyde Park team will continue to collecting information, working with community members and conducting an economic analysis of the Hyde Park area. Our next event, which will focus on Economic Development, will take place later this fall. Look for more information in the coming weeks!
